We’ve had quite a bunch of snow that has fallen since Friday and for those of you who followed the coming to life of the lilacs this past spring, here is a picture of them today…

I actually find them beautiful — still — and I realize that I live in a place with such extreme seasons because it’s a rhythm and, I suppose, a scale that speaks much to me.
And yesterday, before daring to go out and shovel, I managed to catch some of the ice that had formed on the outside of one of our windows. (The last two images are composites of a bunch of the photographs layered on top of each other.) By the time I had finished shoveling, the ice was gone…
