This is one of the few non-fiction works on my “recommended” list. It is an important book. It talks about an important subject. Not about “rape” but “about rape”. There is a difference.

For those of you familiar with Jane Doe’s court battle with the Toronto police force, you will learn about the learning this brought Jane Doe as this book is written by her. For those of you not familiar with the case, please use this chance to become familiar with it (and at the same take the opportunity to meet an amazing woman).

This book is sort of in two parts, the story of the rape and then the story of the trial (of the Toronto police force not of the rapist). It is a definite “must read”. For all of us.
