I really enjoyed Ursula Hegi’s “Stones from the River” and “Floating In My Mother’s Palm “. And, after much anticipation of its release, was bitterly disappointed with “Tearing the Silence”. “Sacred Time”, I suppose, falls somewhere between those two ends.

The story of an Italian American family in the Bronx in the 50’s, the writing failed to really make me care much about any of the main characters. My “couldn’t wait to get back to it” factor for this book is 2 out of 5 hearts… based mainly on the fact that I wanted to care.
