Angered by her parent’s decision to return to Jamaica, Faith follows them there where she meets her Aunt Coral. Fruit of The Lemon is proof of Andrea Levy’s deep understanding of the social complexities characterizing modern British life.

Having read Small Island not too long ago, I think that I was looking for "more of the same". And… what I found sort of is but mainly isn’t.

Enjoyable writing, enjoyable contexts but, for me, the characters themselves didn’t draw me in as much as the characters of Small Island did.

A pleasant book that drew a “couldn’t wait to get back it factor” of three out of five hearts out of me.
