Dear Supporter,
Congratulations to all of you who contacted your federal election candidates and encouraged them to endorse the Make Poverty History goals! Thanks to you, more than 75% of candidates from all parties have endorsed the Make Poverty History goals of more and better aid, trade justice, 100% debt cancellation and an end to child poverty in Canada. In all, 987 candidates responded by our deadline, and even now, more are contacting us.

Sometimes I absolutely don’t know whether to laugh or to cry. And, ultimately, it doesn’t matter which I do because people continue to be “anyway”.
My “this morning’s amazement” comes from this New York Time’s article by Ian Fisher and Cornelia Dean, In ‘Design’ vs. Darwinism, Darwin Wins Point in Rome. A particularly striking quote…
“To Dr. Kenneth R. Miller, a biology professor at Brown University and a Catholic, <…> ‘As long as science does not pretend it can answer spiritual questions, it’s O.K.,’ he said.”

One of the things I learned over the holidays came through a lovely evening at my best friend’s parents’ house followed by another interesting evening at my parents’ place and a game called “Things” (I think :o) |
